National Margarita Day is here and we’re celebrating with some twists on the iconic cocktail. From watermelon to lemon tumeric, these plays on the agave based mixed drink are perfect for turning a cold winter day into a tropical paradise.
So without further ado, here are nine twists on the Margarita that’ll help you celebrate National Margarita Day.
Spicy Jalapeno X Volley Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1 can of Zesty Lime Volley Tequila Seltzer
- 1 oz of Mezcal
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- ¾ oz pineapple juice
- 5-6 slices of Green jalapeno.
- If you like it extra spicy, add a few dashes of tabasco.
In a tin, muddle jalapenos with ½ oz of lime juice. Add ¾ oz of Pineapple juice, 1 oz of Mezcal, and one can of Zesty Lime Volley. Stir all ingredients and pour into a large glass over ice. Enjoy!
Mint Basil Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Tequila Don Julio Blanco
- 0.75 oz. Lime Juice
- 0.65 oz. Mint Basil Infused Agave
- 0.5 oz. Pinch Maldon Sea Salt
- Garnish: Dehydrated Lime Wheel
- Glassware: Rocks Glass
Combine Tequila Don Julio Blanco, lime juice, fresh lime juice, fresh mint & basil, and agave to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain contents into a rocks over fresh ice and garnish with mint and basil sprig.
Lemon Turmeric Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz. Tequila Don Julio Blanco
- 0.75 oz. Meyer Lemon Juice
- 0.5 z. Turmeric Juice
- 0.5 oz. Kaffir Lime Zest Cordial
- Garnish: Cracked Black Pepper + Extra Virgin Olive Oil Dash
- Glassware: Rocks Glass
- *Add the zest of 3 limes to 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, let sit at room temperature for 24- 36 hours. add 3/4 cup of fresh lime juice and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly and discard the lime zests.
Add ingredients to a shaker and strain into rocks glass with ice.
Sparkling Margarita From Beatrice Inn
Ingredients:
- 1½ oz. Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
- ½ oz. Grand Marnier
- ¾ oz. lime juice
- ½ oz. agave nectar
Top with Rose Brut sparkling wine. Serve in a champagne flute and garnish with Seville orange and lava black salt.
Tropical Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tradicional Reposado
- ½ oz. botanical liqueur
- ½ oz. yuzu juice
- Lemon peel for garnish
Add all ingredients except garnish to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Rub the lemon peel around the rim of the glass and use for garnish. Enjoy!
Sweet Heat Margarita
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Agave Nectar
- 4-5 Raspberries
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Rim with Tanteo Jalapeño Salt. Shake well and strain into a salt-rimmed, ice-filled Rocks Glass. Garnish with a raspberry or jalapeño slice
Highland Margarita
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Cazadores Blanco
- 4 parts grapefruit juice
- 1 part Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 part Light Agave Nectar
Combine all ingredients with ice, shake and strain into a salted glass filled with ice. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and a lime wheel
Watermelon Margarita
Ingredients:
- 2oz Cutwater Tequila Blanco
- 1oz fresh lime juice
- ½oz agave syrup
- ½oz watermelon juice
- *optional dash of spicy bitters
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until cold and strain over fresh ice in a Tajín rimmed glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice.
Black Diamond Margarita
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Dobel Diamante
- 1/2 oz. Agave syrup
- 1/2 oz. Lime Juice
Shake & strain over cubed ice into glass with a black rim, garnish with lime wedge.
