Sipsmith Unveils Limited Edition Gin To Celebrate Wimbledon Tennis Championships

Sipsmith has launched a limited edition gin into travel retail to celebrate being named the official gin partner of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. The limited edition London Dry Gin bottle will be available at selected UK airports including Heathrow, Stanstead and Luton, beginning this month.

The Sipsmith Wimbledon bottle is adorned with an image of both the Sipsmith swan and Rufus, the hawk which oversees Wimbledon’s iconic Centre Court.

“It is a genuine honour to become one of Wimbledon’s exclusive partners,” said Sipsmith Co-Founder Fairfax Hall. “We have a shared commitment to quality, integrity, and legacy creation, with people at the heart of all that we do. These values have undoubtedly led Wimbledon to become a pinnacle in international sport, and Sipsmith to have become a global benchmark for great quality gin. We could not be more delighted to be a part of the iconic Wimbledon experience, for many years to come.”

The new release is the latest part of Sipsmith’s growth strategy within travel retail. The London-based brand grew more than 24% in 2019, prior to the pandemic, and has grown almost a third over the past three years.

“We’re delighted to see this iconic Wimbledon-inspired London Dry Gin launching exclusively to Global Travel Retail channels and we’re confident that customers will love the new bottle, which we hope will transport them to a hot sunny day on the court with every sip,” added Manuel Gonzalez, Brand Marketing Director at Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail, which owns a stake in Sipsmith. “There’s no doubt that this limited-edition packaging in ode to one of the world’s greatest sports events will help drive further excitement among our shoppers and turn heads in stores.”

In April, Sipsmith unveiled its 2021 summer offering, Strawberry Smash Gin. That same month, we caught up with Sipsmith Master Distiller Jared Brown to discuss his first memories of the iconic drink, what goes into a bottle of Sipsmith, and how he likes to enjoy his own Gin & Tonic.
