Royal Salute Teams Up With Richard Quinn For Second Couture Collection Whisky

Royal Salute has once again teamed up with Richard Quinn, this time for the second whisky in its Couture Collection, “The House of Quinn by Richard Quinn”. Last year, the brand and the fashion designer teamed up for the first release in the series, the Royal Salute Couture Collection 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition.

Created by Royal Salute master blender Sandy Hyslop, the new blend combines rare whiskies from across Scotland, including some laid down in the year of Richard Quinn’s birth (1990).

The House of Quinn by Richard Quinn is presented in individually numbered hand-blown black Dartington crystal decanters. Quinn has created two exclusive floral designs for the bottling: one hand painted onto the decanters; and one printed onto the silk pocket squares included with each bottling.

Liya Zhang, vice president of marketing at Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (PR GTR), said: “There is an undeniable sense of excitement as travel rebounds following the Covid-19 pandemic and shoppers return to airports. As part of this, we are seeing a clear premiumisation trend in the channel, as consuemrs relish the renewed opportunity to browse highly exclusive and collectable items.

“This new release is a striking combination of artistry and innovation, and we are delighted to be able to bring this luxurious product to global travellers.”

On the nose, the whisky features a melody of floral notes followed by a lively burst of ripe fruits; mango, sweet banana, rich apricot jam and fresh orange zest. As the aroma develops, it delivers a scent of creamy vanilla fudge with a gentle hint of cinnamon. The palate mirrors the rich sweetness of the nose, luxurious notes of blossom honey are complemented by indulgent dark chocolate and hazelnut. In the background lingers a characteristic oak spice and a subtle hint of smoke, brought together by the flavor of syrup-soaked peaches and cream. The finish is soft and long with enduring sweet oak aromas.

Just 200 decanters will be released, 40 of which will be made available through travel retail in locations including Heathrow, Tel Aviv, Dubai, and Hainan beginning in April 2022. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
