M&H Distillery (Milk & Honey) has launched its very own Cask Ownership Program. The Israeli distillery brought its Whisky to the United States for the first time back in August.
The M&H Distillery Cask Ownership Program allows Whisky fans the opportunity to purchase their own personalized cask. Buyers can choose between Es-Isaly, Bourbon, or STR casks, which will be set aside in the M&H warehouse and overseen by the company’s head distiller Tomer Goren.
During the initial three-year aging process, owners will have the option to visit the distillery to check on their casks and have a taste of the Whisky, or they can get samples every year delivered through the mail. After the three years, the owners have the option to either let the spirit continue to age or bottle it for themselves. Customers can even design their own logos and labels for their bottles.
“The launch of our new private cask program represents a landmark moment in the history of the distillery,” said M&H CEO Eltan Attair, in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled to be inviting worldwide whisky aficionados in our family and to embark on a long-term journey of Israeli whisky-making.”
Those interested in the M&H Distillery Cask Ownership Program have four casks options to choose from, and prices include warehousing, insurance, and access to Tomer Goren for discussion of the maturation process. The distillery expects 9% angel’s share across all casks.
- The 56 liter Bourbon Cask starts at €875 (about $1,072 USD). Upon bottling after three years of maturation, expect an edition of 40-50 bottles of whisky.
- The 130 liter Ex-Islay Quarter Cask starts at €2,125 (about $2,603 USD). Upon bottling after three years of maturation, expect an edition of approximately 170 bottles of whisky.
- The 200 liter Bourbon Cask starts at €2,778 (about $3,403 USD). Upon bottling after three years of maturation, expect an edition of approximately 270 bottles of whisky.
- The 225 liter STR Cask starts at €3,205 (about $3,926 USD). Upon bottling after three years of maturation, expect an edition of approximately 300 bottles of whisky.
Those interested should head over to the Private Cask official website for more information.
In November, The M&H Distillery released “Elements,” a three part series of single malt Whiskies. Each of the three Elements series releases begin with the classic M&H Single Malt Whisky, and then are matured in one of three different cask types, Sherry, Red Wine, or Peated.
It is an excellent initiative by the M&H distillery. It will offer whisky lovers a chance to get a personalized drink without worrying about its storage. People can opt between Es-Isaly, Bourbon, or STR casks. They are also offering four options in their cask ownership program. Thank you very much for this article.
What a clever idea! I am in!
