Veuve Clicquot Champagne and London’s Tate Modern have announced a year-long partnership that will help support the gallery.

The partnership coincides with the Tate Modern exhibition Yayoi Kusama: Mirror Infinity Rooms and follows Veuve Clicquot’s previous collaboration with the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama on the producer’s vintage La Grande Dame 2012.

The exhibition will be housed at Tate Modern until June 2022. The new partnership enables Veuve Clicquot to host several private viewings for clients and customers.

Veuve Clicquot cuvées will also be available at the Tate Modern bar, with the flagship Yellow Label NV becoming house pour Champagne.  The museum has also shared plans to launch Kusama-inspired menus and afternoon teas – all of which will be paired with Veuve Clicquot.

Veuve Clicquot’s relationship with the artist Yayoi Kusama was celebrated last year with the release of La Grande Dame 2012 – both case and bottle were designed using her motifs of polka dots and flowers.

Speaking on the partnership Alexei Rosin, managing director at Moët Hennessy UK said:

“Veuve Clicquot and Yayoi Kusama first worked together in 2006 when, for a charity auction in Tokyo, Kusama gave new life to an original portrait of Madame Clicquot by using her famous polka dots pattern.

“We reached a new and inspiring milestone with the 2012 limited-edition last year and have been looking forward to celebrating the Kusama exhibition at Tate Modern.”

The partnership between Veuve Clicquot’s and Tate Modern will run from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2022.

A bottle of La Grande Dame Yayoi Kusama Limited Edition 2012 is available for sale at £160.00 from the Tate Modern shop and online.

In other museum and alcohol partnerships, the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum has teamed up with The Macallan to unveil Saturday on the House, an opportunity for visitors to enjoy free admission all day to the Guggenheim on select Saturdays. Upcoming dates for Saturday on the House are July 3, August 7, September 4, October 23, November 6, and December 4.
