Sammy Hagar and Guy Fieri have added another offering to their spirits partnership, Santo Tequila Reposado. Previously, the brand launched a Blanco Tequila and a Mezquila.
“Our reposado begins in the barrel using our amazing blanco to get the process started,” explains the website. “The blanco is rested in lightly charred used American oak bourbon barrels for four to five months. After resting, the blanco is now transformed into our reposado. This critical time in oak imparts incredible flavors which creates a smooth, easy drinking tequila. Sammy started out years ago with only a reposado and created a sensation with a great brand all of his fans and aficionados of tequila will surely remember. You’ll see he’s still got it when you taste this wonderful reposado.”
Santo Tequila Reposado retails for $54.99 and can be purchased via the official web shop.
At this point, Hagar is a spirits industry veteran. He launched Cabo Wabo Tequila back in the 1990s. He originally sold the brand at his restaurant in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In 2007, he sold the brand to Campari for $80 million.
Hagar and Fieri are now just two of several celebrities associated with spirits brands. Earlier this month, Jamie Foxx bought BSB Brown Sugar Bourbon. In February, Kendall Jenner officially launched her own Tequila, 818 Tequila. She introduced the brand on her Instagram, after weeks of speculations from fans across the globe.
Last week, Deftones teamed up with Abre Ojos to release a limited edition White Pony Tequila to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their famed album of the same name.
In November, The Rolling Stones launched their second Gin, this time featuring their iconic “Hot Lips” logo. Previously, the British rockers teamed up with Golby Gin on a “Yellow Tongue” bottling, which has since sold out. In October, Kiss unveiled its own spirit, Kiss Black Diamond Rum. The new offering is the American rock band’s first collaboration with Swedish drinks company Brands for Fans.
Belgian DJ and record producer Felix De Laet, better known by his stage name Lost Frequencies, also launched a spirits last year, Ocus Organic Gin. Cameron Diaz unveiled a new wine last week, while Ryan Reynolds sold his Gin to Diageo earlier this year, though the actor remains part of the brand.
