Motorhead Partners With Hillrock Distillery On Limited Edition Ace Of Spades Bourbon Whiskey

Hillrock x Motorhead Ace of Spades 40th Anniversary Solera Aged Bourbon Whiskey

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ace of Spades, Motorhead has partnered with Hillrock Distillery on a limited edition Solera Aged Bourbon Whiskey. The new cask strength offering from the New York distillery is decorated with  the band’s official logo and packaged in a bespoke Ace of Spades gift box.

The Hillrock x Motorhead Ace of Spades 40th Anniversary Solera Aged Bourbon Whiskey was made from two separate Oloroso Sherry casks that were specially selected for their “delicate balance of proof and flavor.” Cask #1 was bottled at 115.6ᵒ and limited to 599 bottles, ABV of 57.8%. Cask #2 was bottled at 115.3ᵒ and limited to 623 bottles, ABV 57.65%.

Hillrock Distillery teamed up with Global Brews to help create the Bourbon. The company has a history of working with Motorhead, which have resulted in various beers, wines, and Whiskey releases, including Swedish distillers Götene Vin & Spritfabrik’s Iron Fist American Whiskey, named for the English rock band’s 1982 album.

Slight cinnamon aromas mingle with the oaked caramel-vanilla and floral, fruit notes on the nose of this golden amber Bourbon. On the palate, sweet, yet spicy full-bodied flavors of maple syrup, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, roasted corn, and raisin notes are balanced by spicy notes of clove and cinnamon. The medium to long finish offers sweet caramel and butterscotch. Familiar characteristic of Oloroso sherry flavors of walnut, fig and candied fruit balance the spicy rye undertones.

Hillrock x Motorhead Ace of Spades 40th Anniversary Solera Aged Bourbon Whiskey is currently on sale for $175 and can be purchased via Mash & Grape.

In other rocker spirits news, Kiss unveiled its own spirit, Kiss Black Diamond Rum, back in October. The new offering is the American rock band’s first collaboration with Swedish drinks company Brands for Fans.

In November, The Rolling Stones launched their second Gin, this time featuring their iconic “Hot Lips” logo. Previously, the British rockers teamed up with Golby Gin on a “Yellow Tongue” bottling, which has since sold out.
