Here & Now

Here & Now blossomed into its current form back in October, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the stained glass and modern art-inspired build out. The bar is in front with a section of booths that follow and lead out to an open back patio. Food is savory and often fried, making it perfect to sop up the liquored up creations that come from behind the bar.

Here & Now sparkles at happy hour and during late nights, when it is known as the Arts District’s go-to spot for a night cap. It’s a bar that truly delights in both craft and interaction that never fails to leave you buoyed.

Two cocktails are available on happy hour – both $8. There is the always popular Aperol Spritz, which we recommend changing into an Angeleno Spritz. Made with Amaro Angeleno, the Ventura-made liqueur makes the drink lighter, brighter and less viscous – make sure to ask for a Grapefruit twist for that extra bitter citrus kick. There is also a daily punch, which the bartenders never fail to go full out on.

The full cocktail menu comes with a mix of fun classics like a French 75 (made with Cognac) and a Vesper Martini, shaken not stirred, and newcomers like the Mezcal-driven Zanjero. There is also an espresso martini on the menu – and we’re always suckers for a good espresso martini.

Here & Now sits across the street from SCI-Arc, on the bottom floor of the One Santa Fe complex. Food is delicious, but it’s the bar that continues to make this DTLA spot a must-stop any night of the week — except on Mondays when it’s closed.
