London cocktail bar Funkidory is turning four this month and to celebrate, iconic Paris-based bar Little Red Door will be taking over the bar for one night of Omakase service. Before that, Bristol-based bar Filthy XIII will take over service for one day. To make things even more exciting, an up-and-coming musician is set to put on a performance.
From 5pm till 12am on October 16th, Filthy XIII will takeover Funkidory for London Cocktail Week to showcase its renowned ‘The Sunday Club’. The event, sponsored by Maker’s Mark, Laphroaig, and Roku Gin, will see an exclusive drinks offering of flavour-forward sessional cocktails. Throughout the event, the bar will play a carefully-curated playlist of old school hip hop and R&B.
On October 19th from 5pm until 12am, Funkidory will host award-winning Parisian cocktail bar Little Red Door for an Omakase takeover. Little Red Door recently placed number five in The World’s Best Bars awards 2022 held at the beginning of October; the event will be an exciting opportunity for guests to experience the bar whilst the team are in London. The evening will see the team hosting a Japanese-inspired service of Omakase, translated to ‘I leave it up to you’.
Guests will be invited to outline their preferences, spend cap and desired stay time, and from this the Little Red Door team will craft a selection of drinks from their farm-to-table ingredients as well as highlighting local South London suppliers along the way.
On October 23rd from 2pm until 6pm, Funkidory will welcome NWAKKE to its Sunday Tipple Live Session. The sessions take place each month for an afternoon of intimate live music with an up and coming musician alongside delectable cocktails.
Both bar takeovers are free events and walk-ins are welcome, however, bookings are highly recommended as space is limited. NWAKKE’s live performance will start at 3pm and early arrival is recommended. Gig tickets are priced at £8. Bookings can be made through DesignMyNight for all events.
