Fairytale Distillery has just unveiled No 57 Summer Edition Gin. The Scottish distillery’s late summer offering delivers sweet summer freshness and is the perfect additive to the end the season.
Fairytale Distillery No 57 Summer Edition Gin is made with juniper, mango, orange peel, lemon peel, angelica roots, coriander, hibiscus petals, violet roots, bitter orange, cassia, mandarine, and kumquat. It’s those bright fruits and floral notes that make it a unique expression amongst a landscape littered with options.
The nose is described as, “Aromatic and compact this gin has a clear juniper presence, a strong mango note with a hint of citrus oil top notes of orange, lime and lemon; delicately rooty and earthy, with angelica, coriander and cardamom coming through; some floral notes and to finish a menthol coolness.”
Details on the palate are as follows, “Aromatic repetition on the palate; subtle juniper basis, with woody, coniferous and resinous accents; contains a strong mango element with a hint of cassia; a compact, full-bodied, good length, with a hint of spice at the finish.”
It has been a heck of a year for the distillery. Recently, it picked up three medals, including Golds for its Highland Gin. No 57 and Highland Gin No. 6 at the 2020 London Spirits Competition.
Highland Gin No. 6 also won a Double Gold medal and Spirit of the Year at the 2020 World Spirit Awards. That was not all; They also won 2 Gold medals for their Highland Gins No. 4 and No. 7 and 2 Silver medals for their Highland Gin No. 1 and their Speciality Old Tom Gin.
The Gin goes for £46.80 ($76 USD) per 700 ml bottle and can be purchased via the distillery’s official web store.
In the north West Highlands of Scotland the newly founded Fairytale Distillery is located in the north West Highlands at Ardelve, and looks out across Loch Ailsh to Eilean Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye.
