Edinburgh Gin has unwrapped a new Poached Pear Gin liqueur. Over the years, the Scottish distillery has released a number of tantalizing Gin liqueur flavors that range from Rhubarb and Ginger to Pink Peppercorn to Blackcurrant and Anise or Lemon and Jasmine.

Now, Edinburgh Gin Poached Pear Gin Liqueur is joining the distillery’s already star-powered Holiday lineup, which includes an aptly titled Christmas offering as well as a Mulled Gin Liqueur. The people behind the expression are calling it a “A luxurious and warming gin liqueur that is a perfect winter warmer and celebratory tipple.”

Featuring flavors of sweet pear, red wine, and warming festive spices, this burgundy-colored liqueur is the perfect variation for a seasonal French 75 (or two), or use its luxurious sweet flavors as part of an hot winter cocktail.

“Our range of gin liqueurs has always boasted wonderful flavour combinations,” noted Neil Boyd, UK Managing Director of Ian Macleod Distillers. “The Poached Pear gin liqueur is yet another sophisticated flavour – and one that I’m sure will delight drinkers as we approach the festive period. Edinburgh Gin liqueurs are extremely versatile. They can be enjoyed as traditional mixed serves, in cocktails, with sparkling wine or even as a hot serve. With an ABV of just 20%, they also tap into the demand we’re seeing for lower ABV serves.”

Coming in at 20% ABV, the Edinburgh Gin Poached Pear Liqueur is available exclusively at John Lewis or Edinburgh Gin’s official website, and costs just £16.50 ($21.50 USD) per 50cl bottle. It’s an excellent addition to the drinks cabinet, but also would make a lovely Christmas present.

Back in May Edinburgh joined the canned cocktail craze with the release of Raspberry Gin Fizz cans.  A mix of sparkling wine and raspberry liqueur, the ready-to-drink cocktail was also part of the Ian Macleod Distillers-owned company’s mission to reward communities who had pulled together during the coronavirus crisis.
