Bowmore Unveils 1995 and 1997 Single Cask Whiskies

Bowmore has partnered with duty free operator Heinemann to offer Bowmore 1995 and Bowmore 1997 single cask whiskies. The two limited edition offerings from the Beam Suntory-owned Islay distillery will be available at airports in Frankfurt and Istanbul.

Bowmore 1995 and Bowmore 1997 have both matured in first-fill Bourbon hogshead casks in the distillery’s No.1 Vaults, the oldest Scotch maturation warehouse in the world.

Bottled at 52.6% ABV and matured for 22 years, The Bowmore 1997 offers light peat and cooked seaweed on the nose, along with clover honey, Madagascan vanilla pod, and lightly crushed hazelnuts. The palate is sweet and salty with notes of pancake, lemon juice, and sugar. Beginning November 21, the Whisky will be available for purchase from Heinemann’s Frankfurt Airport for the price of €390 ($455 USD) per 700m bottle. Only 236 bottes will be made available.

Matured for 24 years, The Bowmore 1995 single cask Whisky was bottled at 53.3% ABV and boasts a lightly peated nose with sweet, spicy, and herbal notes. The palate delivers “light peat reek and bonfire, with spicy and sweet heather honey, mead, floral notes of lilies of the valley and magnolia.” Just 234 bottles of the Whisky will be released will become available for purchase on November 28 at Heinemann’s outlet in Istanbul Airport for €507 ($592 USD) per 700ml bottle.

We are very excited to be working with Heinemann to offer these brilliant single cask expressions exclusively to their customers.”

In October, Bowmore unveiled a limited edition 30 Year Old single malt Scotch Whisky, one of SpiritedZine’s 25 Limited-Edition Scotch Whiskies To Get You Through 2020. In August, the distillery teamed up with Aston Martin to launch their first collaborative whisky: Black Bowmore DB5 1964.
