Blue Run Spirits Launches 14-Year-Old Bourbon

Blue Run 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon

Blue Run Spirits has launched a 14-year-old bourbon, along with a limited release Reserve bottling.

Blue Run 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon snagged top honors at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition winning Best Small Batch Bourbon – 11 Years & Older, along with a Double Gold Medal. Blue Run 13.5-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon was awarded Best Single Barrel Bourbon – 11 Years & Older, as well as a Double Gold Medal.

Jim Rutledge, Blue Run’s Liquid Advisor, approved the barrels that comprise this limited, small batch bourbon. The whiskey offers a long, sweet and dry finish; little to no burn on the back end and a long tail. The nose delivers baking spices followed by a wash of Anaheim pepper. The palate is buttery, with notes of French toast cooked in a pan with recently fried breakfast sausages, giving way to a hint of white pepper, slightly tart Rainier cherries, and a pop of caramel to finish. These flavors are most pronounced in the Reserve bottling.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer a special Reserve bottling of our award-winning 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon to our fans outside our current distribution states,” said Mike Montgomery, CEO of Blue Run Spirits. “Our 13.5-year-old single barrels that were released in May sold out online in minutes, so we want to thank our online customers for their voracious support of Blue Run.”

Blue Run Kentucky Straight 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon can be purchased for $199.99, while the Reserve offering is available online for $249.99. Both releases sit at 56.5% ABV.

In November, Rutledge announced he was teaming up with Blue Run Spirits to launch its inaugural offering, Blue Run 13-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Blue Run Spirits partnered with former Four Roses master distiller Jim Rutledge to serve as its advisor in creating “products for the modern whiskey fan.”
