Benriach has released rare 21, 25 and 30 Year Old Whiskies. The trio of premium Scotches come on the heels of the Speyside distillery’s core lineup redesign and launch.
Benriach 21, 25 and 30 Year Old Single Malt Whiskies were matured in a diverse selection of highly distinctive oak casks and combined with what’s said to be complex layers of smoke, with each aged expression having been “meticulously composed for aromatic effect, richness and deep mellow maturity.”
“It’s a real honor to be able to offer our fans an opportunity to experience the diversity and versatility of Benriach’s orchard fruit-laden style, elevated by a longer maturation time,” said Rachel Barrie, Benriach Master Blender. “These older expressions are a beautiful reflection of the landscape around the distillery with intriguing, luxurious layers of flavor imparted by the eclectic casks sourced from around the world.

The Benriach 21 was matured in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry, Virgin Oak, and Red Wine asks. Bottled 46% ABV, it offers aromas of berry fruit, orchard apple, wild honey. and mountain oak spice. The palate features candied grape, rich cocoa, and smoked pine nut. The finish delivers caramelized pear and honey smoke. The Whisky is priced at $199.99 per 750ml bottle
The Benriach 25 was mature in Bourbon, Sherry, Virgin Oak, and Madeira Wine casks. Also coming in at 46% ABV. It offers aromas of smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate, and hazelnut toffee. The palate delivers baked fruit, toasted oak spice, orange, and cinnamon spice. The finish features rich caramelized smoke. It’s priced at $359.99 per 750ml bottle.
The Benriach 30 was matured in Bourbon, Sherry, Virgin Oak, and Port casks. Also bottled at 46% ABV, it features aromas of stewed plum, baked orange, smoked walnut, and cinnamon cocoa. The palate delivers dark fruit, manuka honey. and chocolate raisin. The finish is long and complex with flavors of smoked honey. The Scotch is priced at $739.99 per 750ml bottle.
Benriach has also just revealed its Cask Edition Collection 2021. Made up of 19 single malts matured in 11 different cask types, each expression in the set explores a “different facet” of the Speyside distillery’s multi-layered, fruit forward profile. Last week, Benriach released Smoke Season, its smokiest single malt Whisky to date.
