Sonoma-Cutrer Debuts 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir

Sonoma-Cutrer 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir

Sonoma-Cutrer has announced the arrival of the 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir. The new release from  the California winery is a beautiful and delicate example of why Russian River Valley Pinot Noir makes a wonderful rosé.

“We are very excited to share this exceptional wine after what proved to be a difficult year,” Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono. “I am privileged to have collaborated with a strong team of women including our director of vineyard operations, cellarmaster and quality manager to overcome 2020’s many obstacles and deliver a stunning Rosé of Pinot Noir.”

The rosé harvest began on August 19th at Vine Hill Ranch and completed a short two-weeks later with fruit from our Owsley estate in the Russian River Valley AVA. The Owsley Estate consists of ten unique vineyard blocks of Pinot Noir. Known for its dramatic temperature changes from warm days to cool, foggy nights, the vines yield concentrated and complex flavored grapes.

“Despite all the additional challenges and stress that this year brought to our winemaking efforts, 2020, just like every year before it, worked out”, said Mick Schroeter, Sonoma-Cutrer Head Winemaking Director. “Best of all, we are thrilled with the quality and style of this year’s vintage.“

A light salmon in color, the Sonoma-Cutrer Debuts 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir opens up with aromas of blueberry, pink grapefruit, cantaloupe and a light hint of rose petal. A crisp, refreshing mouthfeel accentuates the fresh fruit flavors of citrus, strawberry and blood orange. The wine finishes long and tangy. It’s the kind of bottle that’s made for summer picnics or barbecues under a blazing sun when laughter and the smell of fresh cut grass fills the air.

Bottled at 11.9% ABV this 100% Pinot Noir is priced at $25 and can be purchased via Drizly and the Sonoma-Cutrer official website.
