Glenlivet Takes Founder On Time Traveling Adventure In Original By Tradition Campaign

Glenlivet Original By Tradition

The Glenlivet has unveiled its Original By Tradition campaign with a new ad that finds the Speyside brand’s founder time traveling. The new global campaign was created by Crispin Porter Bogusky London.

The Glenlivet Original By Tradition TV and digital film sees brand founder George Smith running through the conveyor belt of time while trying not to spill a glass of his beloved single malt Whisky. On his journey from his home in Scotland in 1824, when he created the iconic Scotch, to a modern bar setting, Smith finds himself avoiding the pitfalls of time and pushing past metaphors for rigid tradition, finally bursting through a wal and landing in modern times.

“Our new film celebrates the original thinking of our founder George Smith and the legacy he left us, that compels us to keep innovating and pushing boundaries in the category,” Says Miriam Eceolaza, director at The Glenlivet. “We have brought to life Smith’s vision with innovations such as the much discussed The Glenlivet Capsule Collection, The Glenlivet 14 Year Old Cognac Cask finish and our most recent release, The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve, finished in Caribbean Rum Barrels. Maintaining the original style of The Glenlivet whisky will always be our key focus and that’s why the whisky is the real hero of this film.”

The Glenlivet launched The Original by Tradition campaign globally last November, which coincided with the release of The Glenlivet’s new modern, bold and vibrant packaging.

In November, The Glenlivet launched its 12 Year Old Illicit Still Whisky. The new offering from the distillery is the first in a series of limited-edition Whiskies known as “The Original Stories” range, which celebrates “the brand’s passion and originality.”

Earlier in the month, Chivas Brothers released its 2020 Distillery Reserve Collection featuring 48 new single cask expressions, including offerings from The Glenlivet, Aberlour, Scapa, and more. The annual series from the Pernod Ricard-owned company provides Whisky lovers with the opportunity to collect rare malts from the heart of the Speyside region.
