Glenlivet Debuts Caribbean Reserve, The Summer Scotch Tiki Drinks Have Been Waiting For

The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve

The Glenlivet has launched Caribbean Reserve. The new non-age-statement single malt Scotch Whisky from the Speyside distillery has been finished in Rum barrels and is the perfect addition to summer.

Noted for being “well balanced and exceptionally smooth,” The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve features hints of tropical fruits, honey and cinnamon. It’s a laid-back summer tipple that’s great sipped neat, over ice, or in Tiki drinks.

On the nose, sweet notes of pear and red apple meet a tropical twist of ripe bananas in syrup. The plate features rich caramel toffee notes, followed by flavors of tropical fruit. The finish is well balanced and smooth.

If  you’re looking to mix up a cocktail with the Whisky, Glenlivet recommends The Coco Lime Smash:

  • 1 ½ Parts coconut water
  • 2 Lime wedges
  • ½ Part simple syrup
  • 8 Mint leaves

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail tin. Then muddle, add ice, and Shake. Pour into a rocks glass and top with coconut water. Garnish with a lime wedge and mint

Marnie Corrigan, brand director at supplier Pernod Ricard UK, noted,“The Glenlivet has grown 21.2% in value over the latest 12 weeks, and NPD continues to grow the single malts category adding 12% versus the latest 12 weeks last year [Nielsen].

”The UK has a rich history of tropical takes on whisky cocktails and challenging the notion that rum is the only option for Caribbean-inspired drinks, making it the perfect market for the latest addition to our brand portfolio.

”The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve is a unique proposition and the launch is an important next step in our Original By Tradition platform, to reinforce our innovative credentials and to recruit new-to-category drinkers.”

The whisky will be released in both 750 ml and 1 L varieties, which retail for $39.99 and $58 respectively.
