The Kraken Black Spiced Rum has released the second limited-edition bottle in its Unknown Deep collection.
Representing a second attempted expedition to find “The Beast,” the bottle comes in its own distressed diving cage, with the bottle itself having a deep blue pearlescent coating and a tactile embossed finish.
On the nose, the rum offers hints of vanilla, dried spices, citrus, and toffee. The palate is full of rich sticky molasses, with big hits of cinnamon, syrup, and a toasted oakiness. The finish is long and full of spice.
For each limited-edition bottle sold, The Kraken will donate £1 to Padi Aware, a marine conservation charity with a mission to clear up ocean debris while reporting on the types, quantities and locations of the materials collected to inform future conservation efforts and research.
“Kraken Rum has a rich history of supporting marine life, from the smallest sea critters to the biggest sea-dwellers, so we’re proud to be working together once again to save and protect the ocean,” said Ian Amos, operations coordinator at Padi Aware. “Every single bottle sold will help us continue our vital work of removing ocean debris, as well as training new volunteers to help us make an even bigger splash in 2022.”
Bottled at 40% ABV, The Kraken Unknown Deep is priced at £39.
