Ardbeg Rolls Out Monster Ice Scream Truck, Serving Halloween-Inspired Treats

Ardbeg Monster Ice Scream Truck

Ardbeg has unveiled its Monster Ice Scream Truck, which is serving Halloween-inspired treats around the UK. From October 26 to 31, the Islay whisky brand’s truck will be prowling the country looking for any sweet-toothed sinners bold enough to face the Ice Scream monster truck.

Created in partnership with ice cream parlor Ruby Violet, the Ardbeg Monster Ice Scream Truck will be making stops in London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow in the run up to Halloween. Each

ice cold tricky treat has a wickedly peaty twist and are mashed together with three of the brand’s smokiest single malts – Ardbeg Ten Years Old, An Oa and Wee Beastie – attendees can get their teeth into three ghoulishly delicious serves:

Cookies & Scream – Ardbeg Wee Beastie ice cream sandwiched between charcoal cookies, coated in (optional) crunchy mealworms.

Ahhh, No! Bar – Lapsang Souchong ice cream with an Ardbeg An Oa caramel centre, coated in white chocolate.

Ice Cream Groan – Charcoal cone filled with Ardbeg, Ten Years Old smoky blackcurrant ice cream, topped with sour cherries and an (also optional) brittle insect-flecked shard.

“Our ‘ice scream’ truck will be prowling the country this month, leaving smoky delights in its wake during the spookiest time of the year,” said Colin Gordon, Ardbeg Distillery Manager. “I’d urge whisky lovers to beware though: Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a dram with quite a bite, so while it may be encased in ice cream, you’ll still need to be on your guard. The events are guaranteed to linger long in the nightmares of anyone who dares attend.”

The vehicle took three months and 12 people to build and has been created to pay homage to classic B-Movie beasts of the silver screen.

Visitors of the Ice Scream truck can also book an exclusive 45-minute slot in a scary Monsters of Smoke ‘cage’ to indulge in cocktails such as:

Cherry Lipsmacker – Like the best Halloween surprises, this Ardbeg An Oa-based cocktail is as deceptive as it is delicious. A different slant on the old favourite whisky and cola, it summons flavors of smoky tea, syrup sweetness and treacle toffee, as cigar smoke and aniseed creep across the palate.

Begroni – This Ardbeg twist on a classic Negroni. Herbaceous and chocolatey, it nods at the heritage of the original serve, when Count Negroni requested a more punchy version of his favorite Americano. Made with Ardbeg Wee Beastie, beware its smoky, spicy bite.

New fashioned – There’s a smoky brilliance to this serve – which takes a spooky sidestep from the classic Old Fashioned, using Ardbeg Ten Years Old. Black pepper pops with cinnamon toffee, chewy peat oil and jammy blackcurrant tones.

Stops on the Ardbeg Monster Ice Scream Truck Tour include:

  • Friday October 29th at Drygate Brewery, Glasgow
