Despite being the world’s most-popular white wine grapes, Chardonnay is managing to offer people some pretty good value recently. As it turns out, the globally planted French varietal can value alongside quality.

When it comes to the best value Chardonnays in 2021, its all about Chile, according to a recent article from Wine Searcher. On the site’s list for best bang-for-your-buck Chardonnays, five of the top ten hail from the South American nation.

To create its list, Wine Spectator made a simple algorithm where it divided the score by the price to give a value factor and the higher the factor the better the value. The higher the value factor, the more points per dollar.

The 2019 Baglio del Cristo di Campobello Laudari Chardonnay has received an average score of 97 points, but generally comes in around $18 per bottle. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to find this beauty Stateside, but it’s accessible all over Europe.

Tablai Wines, meanwhile, manages to be the best brand when it comes to values for Chardonnays. The Chilean winery managed to get four different vintages on Wine Searchers list. The wines range from from the $17 2017 to the $28 2019.

Considering these bargains, it’s not surprising that Chardonnay continues to be the world’s favorite white wine.
